This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our official mobile application, El Abogado Judio, designed for active clients of our firm in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
2. Information We Collect
To provide real-time case tracking and communication, the application collects and processes the following data:
- Authentication Data: We utilize a secure single-factor access code generated by our internal backend/CRM to verify that you are an active client. No public user registration is available within the app.
- Case and Profile Information: Full name, internal unique client ID, assigned attorney notes, and historical or active immigration case status details.
- User-Uploaded Content (Media & Files): To facilitate your legal process, the app allows you to upload document photos, images from your device gallery, or local PDF files directly to your secure case file.
- Device Access Permissions: The app requests explicit permission to access your Camera (to scan documents) and Photo Gallery/File Storage (to select files for upload). These permissions are used strictly when you initiate a file upload.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information exclusively to:
- Authenticate your identity and match your device with your active legal case.
- Display your dynamic immigration timeline, milestones, and upcoming USCIS or Immigration Court appointments.
- Securely transmit requested documentation and evidence directly into our firm’s central back-office server (
lex-admin).
4. Data Storage, Encryption, and Retention
- Secure Transmission: All data transferred between the mobile application and our central servers is encrypted in transit using industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer/Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) HTTPS protocols.
- Local Device Encryption: Session data is persisted securely on your device using encrypted local storage (
AsyncStorage). - Data Retention: Your information, logs, and legal documents are maintained on our secure PostgreSQL database server only as long as necessary to manage your active cases, comply with professional legal retention standards, or satisfy statutory administrative obligations.
5. Third-Party Data Sharing
We do not sell, lease, trade, or share your personal data, document files, or usage statistics with third-party advertisers, commercial entities, or unapproved external software services. Data is shared internally with authorized attorneys, legal assistants, and firm administrators solely to advance your legal processes.
